Although there are new studies which are saying the Grand Canyon may be much older, it is generally believed that the Grand Canyon is over 5 million years in the making. This is the first place I thought of when seeing this week’s Daily Post challenge of Time.

And a grand thought it was. 🙂 One of the most spectacular places in the world, I think.

Thank you, Janet. Spectacular, indeed, and one of the best places to view an incredible amount of earth’s time in the making!

I believe God created the canyon pretty much as is, and the flood would have compressed things even more and time would wear away the rock further. No matter our beliefs, it’s an amazing place.

That’s a wonderful picture to show time. Centuries and millenniums passed by and the canyon gets even more impressive.

Thank you. The clock we adhere to on a daily basis seems irrelevant to the millenniums that have shaped the canyon.

Thank you, Nadia. Like many places in the West, a clear blue sky makes the Grand Canyon a tough place to photograph. It becomes very sterile. Those brooding clouds never amounted to much more, but they added depth and feeling, making those layered details apparent.
