For this week’s Daily Post Challenge, I have another shot from my trip to Silver Falls State Park in Oregon. I chose this shot for two reasons. The water falls, obviously, due to gravity, but that slab of rock that the water flows across is cut very deeply underneath. There is a tremendous amount of weight that is defying gravity by not collapsing here.

Thank you, Nadia! There are many beautiful waterfalls in this little state park, and throughout Oregon. I saw this one in my files, and knew it was the right shot for the challenge.

Gorgeous with the cave like a frame to the waterfall and forest. Like a fairytail

Thank you, Lena. I’ve only come across a couple waterfalls that I have been able to photograph from underneath/behind. This one allows you to get sooo far behind that you don’t even feel the spray of the falls in many areas. It is very much a magical spot!

Gorgeous… from that vantage point, it looks like you are gazing into an eye… well done.

Thank you, Tori. I liked the way the overhang framed the scene when I was taking the shot, but it wasn’t until I saw it on the screen that I began to see it from that perspective.

Steve, you framed this wonderfully. It’s almost like looking out of a large eye.
