Apparently, our week of winter is over in the desert. Several days ago, it rained overnight, and as I was taking the dog for its morning walk, I passed by a neighbor’s rain-patterned hood. They must have recently waxed their car, because mine never looks like this after it rains. I was fascinated by the patterns and textures, so I returned with my camera.

I wish my car beaded up like that! Hmm, perhaps it needs a wax 😆

I noted something similar on our sunroof in our car one day and also couldn’t resist photographing it. Neat-o!

Thanks, Sue! I only see random drops on my car, so the various sizes and shapes grouped in rows intrigued me.

This image immediately caught my eye and imagination. I love the lighting, and thinking i see one thing (amazing stones in a formation on a beach) then in the next moment, seeing that it is really rain drops. Beautiful work, as always!

Yes, my reaction upon first seeing these patterns was the same. I’m glad I was able to capture that sense of illusion with those bizarre water droplets. Thank you, Liza!
