Sometimes flat, overcast skies make for perfect lighting. Or, in this case, backdrop. Bright white clouds contrasting with a blue sky would have been a distraction here. Instead, I was able to showcase the patterns of the branches and leaves.

Thank you Nadia. I almost used this one in the abstract challenge because of its lacework similarities, but thought it was too distinct for that category.

Thank you, Eliza. I like the patterns created by tree branches, and spend a fair amount of time looking for angles like this when I’m out with my camera.

It looks like some patterns that I have seen in hosiery…In fact, some of fail-proof, favorite stockings sported those veins and patterns…
